A Tour Through Blogland

Good morning and Happy Monday, everybody! I hope you had a great weekend. I was so flattered when the beautiful and very smart (hello, she's also an attorney!), Alecia Mariana, creator of the blog La Joie de Vivre nominated me to participate in A Tour Through Blogland.

We have been following each other's blogs pretty much from the time of inception and I admire the fact that, in such a short time, Alecia has already done so many cool collaborations and has been part of some great events. Plus, she's a former Florida girl and a Gator so... Love her! ;-)

I think these Tours Through Blogland are awesome because they provide us with a little more insight on the bloggers we follow on a regular basis and, in my opinion, just really help improve the connection between the reader and the blogger.

So, without further ado, here's what's going with Girl In a Hot City...

What am I working on?

At the moment I am focusing on the direction in which I want to take the blog. Today marks nine months that I started GHC and am finally getting my legs and starting to feel more comfortable with the whole blogging process. I am finding my voice and my goal for the next few months is to really work on my content and make sure my voice is clearly heard.

How does my work differ from others in its genre?

You know, I don't know that it does. There's a million of us out there so, by sheer law of probability, I know my blog is very similar to a lot of others. The one difference I would say is that this particular blog is mine and, therefore, it's got my vibe. Also, I believe I am significantly older than the majority of bloggers. But, hey, it's never too late, right?

Why do I write/create what I do?

Cause it's fun! Plain and simple. I love fashion, I love putting outfits together, I love seeing the end result in pictures and I absolutely love the community that I've become a part of. One of my favorite byproducts of this whole blogging thing is the connections you can make with other like-minded individuals. Be it non-blogger readers or fellow bloggers, the connection and interaction with people who love style and fashion as much as you do and being able to discuss it and "get" one another is just amazing. I love that!

How does my writing/creating process work?

It's so funny because I don't consider myself to be a very creative person and I don't exactly love writing so, there really hasn't been a process in place. It's one of the things I am focusing on right now. I've just been kinda going on feeling. Some days I'll feel like talking about the outfit I'm posting, some days I'll just want to show you the outfit and talk to you about what I did over the weekend, some days I won't want to say anything but "Have a great day!". I guess you can say it's a work in progress...

Now, I want to introduce you to these two lovely ladies, whose blogs I love, and ask them to come along on the Tour. Make sure you check out their blogs today and also tune in next week when they share their answers to the above questions!

Nicole Layne of Nicole to The Nines

I'm Nicole, the editor and creator of Nicole to the Nines.  I spent 2 years traveling every week and living out of suitcase when I realized I needed a creative outlet to indulge my love of fashion.  Hence, Nicole to the Nines was born.  I've always loved fashion, but don't believe you have to spend a lot of money to look great (but a little splurge is always fun!).  Nicole to the Nines is where I share my style, fashion inspiration, and the great deals I find with everyone.

Tatiana Pujol of We Shop in Heels

This is Tatiana Pujol, the founder of “We Shop in Heels” a bilingual English/Spanish Blog site for beauty, fashion and personal Style. I work in the fashion and beauty industry, while I share my passion, tips and advice through my blog site. Blogging and connecting with other people with the same interest than me has allowed me to keep growing as a blogger. I love new challenges and I see blogging as a way of expressing myself through fashion.
