I See You, Baby...

Sweater: Generation Love (got it at a local boutique in Coral Gables called Cavalier, not available online, but similar here, and here), Jeans: Citizens of Humanity "Avedon", Booties: Jeffrey Campbell (old, identical here), Eyeglasses: Firmoo c/o, Scarf: Anthropologie (not available online, but very similar here), Bag: Chanel, Lipstick: Tom Ford "True Coral"

I've never been a huge fan of total black (or total white) looks. I'm a lover of color and have always found all black outfits to be kind of plain and lackluster (with the exception of the LBD). But, as I've gotten older, that's been changing. I find myself more drawn to black as a complete look and I have a newfound appreciation for it. It's easy, slimming, and pretty much always flattering. You just can't go wrong with it.

Another thing that has changed as I've gotten older is my taste in accessories. When it comes to accessories, I now find myself being attracted by those that add a little touch of quirk and whimsy. These Firmoo eyeglasses are a cross between hipster and school teacher and I am totally diggin' their vibe. Firmoo is a global online optical store where you can purchase really cool, fashionable eyeglasses, sunglasses, or just plain frames, whether they are prescription or not. If you wear prescription glasses, they make it really easy for you to order and even suggest what kind of frames would be best for you based on the width of your face and your pupillary distance. All you have to do is fill in the information. And, right now, they have a special offer going on where you can get your first pair of frames free. Click here for more info!

Mine are not prescription, they are just for fashion, and I love the way they complement certain outfits. In my opinion, these eyeglasses, along with the faux-fur scarf, add that little interest that makes the difference in this look.

I hope you had a fantastic holiday weekend!

Sassy

Blazer: Zara (old, similar here and here), Jeans: Citizens of Humanity "Racer", Tank: Citizens of Humanity (free gift w purchase), Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (lower cost option here  and here), Hat: Anthropologie (20% off right now with code EXTRACHEER) Bag: Chanel, Watch: Fossil,  Lipstick: Nars "Rita"

I've been wearing this type of outfit quite a bit lately. You can never go wrong with a blazer-jeans-heels combination. It's an easy and put together look that can take you just about anywhere.

I just got these jeans and I absolutely love them. They are supposed to be skinny fit, but I got them in my usual size and they fit me more on the relaxed side, which I actually prefer. I "topped" off the look with this cool hat from Anthropologie (right now, take 20% off all items with code EXTRACHEER!), and my new red lipstick from Nars.

In outfits like this, I always feel confident, in-charge, and even a little sassy!

Toting Around

Oversized Tee: The Fifth Label (similar here, here, and here), Military Jacket: collectionb via Nordstrom (old, similar here and also like this one here on sale!), Jeans: Rag & Bone/Jean, Booties; Kurt Geiger London (similar here and here in limited sizes on sale!), Tote: Everlane Petra "Market" in Cognac (they don't have this color available right now, but they have this one called Saddle that is absolutely gorgeous!), Scarf: Anthropologie (old, similar here), Watch: Fossil

Ladies, if you've been coming by for any amount of time, you will agree when I say that I love bags. A great bag (and by great I don't mean expensive), whatever its style, can enhance, elevate, or, in some cases, even make an outfit.

When I saw this tote from Everlane, it was love at first sight. The size, the smooth texture, the color... Everything was perfect about it. Not to mention, it is very well priced. A bag of similar quality (100% Italian leather exterior), can cost up to three times as much!

This is not a sponsored post by any means. I just really, really like this bag and wanted to share that with you. I also have my eye on this smaller one in navy. If you're looking for a roomy and super stylish, great quality tote, I totally recommend the Petra "Market" Tote.

Against the Wind

Top: Banana Republic, Skirt: Willow & Clay via Piperlime (on major sale right now!), Faux Fur Vest: Lark via Nordstrom (old, very similar here, and love this one here on super sale!), Booties: Jeffrey Campbell (old, very similar here, and here), Tights: DKNY (2 for $25), Sunglasses: Prada, Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old style, also really like this one)

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We went up to NYC to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a fantastic time. I will say, though, it was pretty cold. It's funny because in all the years I lived there, I don't think I was ever really aware of how cold it gets. I guess now that I've been living in a warmer climate for so long, my skin has thinned out and I'm very aware of the chilly weather.

I leave you with this outfit I wore a couple weeks back, here in Miami, on a super windy day. I love the combination of the burgundy and black (very autumn), and the girly flared style of the skirt.

By the way, I am so flattered to have been chosen by the lovely ladies over at Peaches In A Pod, Whitney and Blaire, as their Look of the Week for last week! If you don't already know them, make sure you check out their blog!

Wishing you a great start to the week!

All I Want for Christmas is...

I normally don't do many of these types of posts but, since the holidays are right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to do a roundup of some of the items on my Wishlist for this Holiday Season. Now, I realize some of these items are a little pricey, but please keep in mind that this is a list of what I want , which is not necessarily what I'll be getting!

Stripes and Leopard

Top: Zara (also like these here  and here), Vest: Zara (old, similar in black here), Jeans: Citizens of Humanity "Avedon", Shoes: Manolo Blahnik , Clutch: Clare V, Sunglasses: Versace, Lipstick: Tom Ford "True Coral"

Today I'm showing you my take on print mixing. Stripes and leopard is a popular combination. And, in this color palette of beige and black, it's subtle enough that even a person who is not comfortable with mixing patterns can get on board.

How do you feel about mixing prints? What are your favorite combos? Let me know in the comments below.

Cutting Myself Some Slack

Top: Search for Sanity via Piperlime (on sale!), Jeans: Citizens of Humanity "Emerson", Booties: Jeffrey Campbell (old, very similar here, and here), Hat: Hat Attack (similar here, and really like this one here), Bag: Chanel (similar here, and at a steal here)

Good morning, loves! I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was a mix of productivity, relaxation and celebration, and we enjoyed every minute of it!

Truth be told, I have conflicting feelings about this time of year. On the one hand, I love it because it's full of parties/get-togethers, celebratory functions, and jolly ol' times with friends and family. But, on the other hand, (and partly due to those celebratory functions, etc...), I tend to eat too much, slack off on my usual workout routine, and then as a result, I don't feel so good, my clothes start fitting a little tighter, and I start feeling a little guilty for the overindulgence and lack of discipline. Please note: I'm Cuban and was raised Catholic. Discipline and guilt are kind of engraved in our culture. (Insert sympathetic sigh here)

Thankfully though, once the holidays are over, I do get back to my usual routine and lifestyle within a month, so... I guess I'll cut myself some slack and just enjoy this beautiful season and all that it has to offer to the fullest!

P.S - In the meantime, I have my comfy (and roomy) boyfriend jeans to take me through the eating season. #blessed, #lovemyboyfriendjeans
