Black and Gray

Sweater: Olivaceous (similar here and also liking this one), Jeans: Citizens of Humanity "Avedon"( on Sale!!!), Shoes: Manolo Blahnik "BB's" ( similar here and here), Hat: Hat Attack (similar here and here), Bag: Chanel "Boy", Watch; Fossil

Happy Monday, loves! After my rant and rave last Wednesday (see post here) about wanting to wear sweaters and other fall pieces, the cooler-weather gods gave me the chance to do so this past Friday! Now, granted, it was a very light sweater, and the temperature was really not cool at all, but I managed to wear it and not feel like I was melting while we walked the three blocks to have drinks and dinner that evening. #happygirlinahotcity

Wishing you a fantastic day and rest of the week!

Currently Craving: Cooler Weather

Yesterday marked the first day of fall, and while a lot of parts of the country have already begun to experience a drop in temperatures, we, here in the South, are still wearing shorts, tank tops, and sandals. As much fun as that may sound to some, to me it poses a bit of a situation. You see, I'm over shorts and sandals and tank tops! I want to start wearing sweaters and jackets and boots. And scarves, lots and lots of scarves. Well, actually, I wear scarves in the dead of summer too but, you get the point.

So, in lieu of wearing these fall pieces right now, I've resorted to just stalk browse the internet and add them to my wishlist/shopping cart. Below are some of the ones I'm currently craving.

By the way, I may or may not have pulled the trigger on some of these already. Stay tuned!

Have a fantastic Wednesday and rest of the week, lovelies! I will not be around on Friday so we'll meet back here on Monday!

With a Kick

Top: Anthropologie, Jeans: Mother "The Looker", Shoes: Valentino "Rockstud", (similar here and also like these here), Bag: Clare V, Necklace: Kendra Scott, Watch: Fossil, Sunglasses: Versace, Lipstick: Bobbi Brown Art Stick "Harlow Red"

If you've been stopping by for any amount of time, you'll know that I am quite at home in casual looks- especially those with jeans. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind getting dolled up every now and again but, it's just that more often than not, the places I frequent don't really call for more than that.

The beauty of jeans is that, while they are a very casual item, they can also be very easily dressed up. Take this outfit for example- Simple and easy, with an untucked button-down, this casual look is effortlessly spruced up by a pair of statement shoes and an eye-catching bag.

The overall feel of it is dressed-down and casual but with a slight kick. I can, and do, wear this look to lunch/brunch with the girls, drinks with my hubby, or a get together at a friend's house. And that, my friends, is just the way I like it. How do you kick up your casual looks? Let me know in the comments below.

Have a great Monday, peeps! See you back here on Wednesday!

Citizen Emerson

Top: Anthropologie (on Sale!), Jeans: Citizens of Humanity Premium Vintage, Shoes: Manolo Blahnik BB's, Watch: Fossil, Clutch: DVF 440 Envelope, Sunglasses: Versace, Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lipstick: Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet "La Malicieuse"

By now, I think you're well aware of my love for boyfriend jeans. They are just so easy and versatile. These Citizens of Humanity "Emerson's" are ones that I'm finding myself reaching for rather often lately. They are "slim boyfriends" so they are relaxed without being saggy and also have a slightly higher waist which renders them very flattering and forgiving. In fact, I like them so much that I got them in a different wash as well!

On this particular occasion, I paired them with this gauzy green buttondown, which I scored at Anthropologie during the #LDW sales, and my new chic (and super soft) cork foldover clutch. I wore this look to the Supper Club I told you about and, due to its loose and comfy nature, it proved to be the right choice for an evening of indulging in food and wine!

Happy Wednesday, lovelies! See you all back here on Friday!

Laid Back

Top: Anthropologie (also liking this one and this one both from Banana Republic- on mega sale thru Sept.13th, Online Only!), Jeans: Anthropologie, Shoes: Dolce Vita (on super sale right now so get them!!!), Bag: Balenciaga, Watch: Fossil, Sunglasses: Prada, Lipstick: Bobbi Brown Lip Art Stick "Dusty Pink"

Lately, I've been getting really in to buttondowns. Not the starchy, tailored kind (although those are nice too), but the soft and slouchy kind that are so comfy and easy to move around in. This white buttondown and its light gray counterpart have been on heavy rotation in the past couple weeks. I also purchased this one during the #LDW sales, and have my eye on this one now for fall.

Combined with a pair of relaxed jeans, they are perfect for achieving a look that's unfussy and laid back but still appropriate and put-together. What's your favorite way to wear your buttondowns?

Wishing everyone a fantastic Friday and weekend! See you all back here on Monday.
