Our Trip to Rome

Today I'm showing you some pictures from our recent trip to Rome. I don't know about you but when I hear the word Rome, right away I think Colosseum. The funny thing is that, although I'd been to Rome twice before, I had not made it out to this particular site! Needless to say, it is awe-inspiring and a total must-see if you visit this city.

Again, we took a ton of pictures but I've edited them down to just a few of my favorites. I hope you enjoy!

The Spanish Steps is another must-see

This is the view looking down from the Steps

The bustling streets in front of the Steps

                                                             A quieter street nearby

The Tiber River as seen from the Trastevere area of Rome

                                                         The famous Piazza Navona

Our Trip to Madrid

View of the city from the Bellas Artes Azotea (Rooftop)

As you may know, my husband and I went on vacation recently to Madrid and Rome. We had an amazing time in both cities. On this post, we will be talking about Madrid.

Madrid is one of the most beautiful and dynamic cities we have ever been to. Full of energy and life, it combines both old and new, traditional and contemporary, all in one sprawling, yet very walkable, city center.

We spent five fantastic days in this city and loved every minute of it. My husband and I are not big museum or monument people. We appreciate (some) art, but what we really like to partake of when we travel is the food and drink of the area, and its people and pastimes. In our opinion, that's how you get to taste the real flavor of a place.

We took a ton of pictures- too many to post. Here I have selected just a few of the ones that, I believe, show how we saw this city. I just realized that all of the food pictures were taken with my phone. If you want to check those out, you can go to my Instagram here. We also went to a Tablado (what they call a Flamenco show), which is a total MUST if you go to Spain, but they did not allow flash photography and it was pretty dark so we did not take pictures there. I hope you enjoy!

Bellas Artes Azotea- a rooftop bar/restaurant with amazing views. People sit around and sip on their beverage of choice while catching up and enjoying the views that you see on the two pics above.

Parque del Retiro (Retiro Park)- Huge park with gorgeous lawns and flower gardens in a quiet part of the city. You can rent paddle boats, walk around and enjoy the entertainment (such as accordion players or the human statues), or just sit on a bench, relax, and enjoy the afternoon.

From wide streets with tons of cars

To narrow sidestreets accessible only by foot or bicycles

                                                                                    Don't stop dreaming

September Recap

It's the first day of October (one of my favorite months of the year!), so you know what that means... Time for a recap of September's looks! You know, looking back at all these outfits, it really does confirm what I said the other day: I am a casual girl and I feel most "at home" in jeans. I really do.

While I would never try to force a certain style of dressing on myself (I'll only wear what I "feel" is me), I am realizing that I should really start giving more skirts and dresses a whirl!

I still have a couple more posts to show you with jeans and shorts but, I'm going to make a real effort to wear more skirts and dresses going forwrd. Stay tuned for that! ;-)

Happy Wednesday, beautiful girls! Two more days until the weekend!!!

Navy Blue and White Stripes

Top: Feel the Piece, Jeans: Siwy Denim, Booties: Joie, Bag: Louis Vuitton, Watch: Anne Klein ( similar here and here ), Sunglasses: Bvlgari ( similar style here and here ), Lipstick: Mac "Show Orchid"

I have always loved stripes. Thin, thick, black, white, red, navy... you get it. And, there's just something about the navy blue and white stripes combo that screams summer to me. This Feel the Piece tee, paired with my white Siwy skinny jeans is an easy, comfy, yet put-together outfit, that can be worn throughout the summer, especially on our outings on or by the water!

Feel the Piece is one of my go-to brands for t-shirts, tanks, and sweaters. They are super soft and comfy and have a fantastic, drapy fit. I buy mine at a local boutique in Coral Gables called Cavalier. If you've never tried Feel the Piece, and don't live in the Miami area, I recommend you check them out here. I promise, you will live in them!

Happy Wednesday, beauties!

Summer...it's a comin'

Tank: Feel the Piece, Jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied, Shoes: Zara ( old ), Bag: Balenciaga, Sunglasses: Versace, Watch: Fossil, Bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Tomorrow marks the official start of summer but, here in Miami, summer has been in full swing for a while now. These past few days have been very hot and humid and it's been raining on and off.

When we stepped out to take these pictures, my hair was fairly tame and not frizzy. Ten minutes later, different story! That said, I leave you with what will probably be one my last "jeans" outfits for a while.

Happy Friday, beauties! Have a great weekend and I'll see you back here on Monday.

By the way, remember that you can follow me on InstagramTwitterBloglovin', and Facebook!

Saturday Afternoon in NYC

Love these beautiful walk-ups/townhomes

Central Park

Droves of people in the Park

The sun was out for most of the day so people were taking advantage of the great weather by having picnics

This guy had the best seat in the house for picture taking

Baseball/Softball games going on all throughout the Park

Lunch at Bistro Cassis on Columbus Ave

Columbus Circle
T-shirt: Rag & Bone/Jean, Jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied, Booties: Kurt Geiger London, Scarf: Anthropologie, Bag: DVF ( now on Sale! ), Sunglasses: Tom Ford

Last weekend we went to NYC. Being one of our favorite cities in the world, we try to go up once or twice a year to get our fix. Regardless of how often you visit, there's always something new to see, a new neighborhood to explore, a new show to see, a new restaurant to eat at, etc... It never gets old!

On Saturday, we spent the day walking around and went from the Upper East to the Upper West through Central Park. To me, the Park is like a city within the City. A huge oasis amid a concrete jungle. A beautiful concrete jungle.

Since we were going to be walking around all day, I wore a comfy outfit of stretchy jeans, tee, and booties.

Wishing everybody a great Friday and an even better weekend! See you back here on Monday.
