Pastels with an Edge

Tank: Feel the Piece ( similar here, lower cost option here ), Shorts: Zara, Wedges: Boutique 9 ( on sale right now!), Scarf: Express, Bag: Love Moschino, ( other cute options here, here, and here ), Watch: Fossil, Sunglasses: Bvlgari

I've never been one for skulls or crossbones. I just don't find them very attractive. I spotted this scarf immediately upon entering the store. The combination of coral and blue caught my eye. The skull print is pretty much all over the scarf but it's got a "lacy" look to it so it's not too obvious.

As soon as I tried it on, I absolutely loved it! And truth be told, I even felt kind of "tough" with it on. ;-)  And speaking of tough, how about these wedges? They have a corset-like, leather lace-up detail in the back with little spikes and grommets.

To soften up the look, I chose these minty green shorts and bluish-gray crossbody. Overall, I really like how it turned out. What do you think of this look?

Oh, and speaking of looks...the blog is getting a makeover! The new look will be making its debut later on this week and it will be dropping the .blogspot. The new address will be girlinahotcity.com!

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Cobalt Blue and White

Blazer: Zara, Jeans: Siwy Denim, Tank: Feel the Piece ( similar here ) Shoes: Christian Louboutin ( lower cost option here ), Bag: Chanel, Necklace: Banana Republic ( similar here ), Sunglasses: Versace, Watch: Fossil

Good Monday morning, all! Today I'm showing you a look that's easy but sophisticated. A blazer dresses up any look instantly. I love the way this cobalt blue one ( another great Zara score! ) looks with white jeans. Adding in some pointy-toe heels and a great necklace renders this outfit "dinner-worthy". As a matter of fact, these pics were taken right before going out to dinner this Friday.

Wishing everyone a great start to the week and, as always, thank you so much for stopping by!

White Blazer

Blazer: Zara, Tank: Twenty ( similar here and here ), Jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied , Shoes: Valentino ( lower cost option here ), Bag: Chanel, Sunglasses: Prada, Lipstick: Bobbi Brown " Harlow Red"

Blazers are very tricky for me. Since I'm short, but have boobs and hips, they've never fit quite right. Always too long, or too tight on the chest/arms. If they fit around the chest, they would be too big around the waist, etc...

Enter this pretty little number. I was skeptical but decided to try it on - all the while ready for it not to fit right. I was wrong! It fit and it fit cute! I love the gathered shoulders which have a very light padding. Of course, as per usual, I had to fold the sleeves in but, hey, I'll take it!

So, I'm curious, what do you think of this look? Happy Friday and, as always, thank you so much for stopping by!

Windy

T-Shirt: Rag & Bone/Jean, Jeans: Flying Monkey ( similar here ), Shoes: Manolo Blahnik, Bag: Express, Scarf: H&M ( old ), Sunglasses: Versace, Watch: Fossil, Bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Good morning, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was spent with family and friends. On Saturday we went out on my sister-in-law's boat and enjoyed the gorgeous day out on the water. When we got back we decided to go down to our pool and finish out the afternoon there. That's where I took this picture, which was a hit on my personal Facebook page. By the way, if you want to follow me on Instagram, you can do so here, and Facebook here

Yesterday we went to the same sister-in-law's house and had a great Easter lunch with my hubby's family. Pictures of that to come! Then in the early evening, we went over to our friends' apartment ( they are newlyweds! ) to celebrate Easter with them and other friends and watch their wedding video. Overall, a great weekend.

I leave you with these pictures that we took on Friday. It was so windy over here. I had to face a certain way in order to keep my hair from being blown on my face!

Bordeaux for Lunch

Tank: Twenty ( similar style here and here ), Skirt: Bella Luxx, Shoes: B Brian Atwood ( similar herehere, and here ), Bag: Chanel, Necklace and Earrings: Fossil ( old but similar here and here ), Sunglasses: Prada

Buongiorno, bellezze! I don't wear a lot of body-con outfits. I will usually reserve them for special occasions such as NYE parties or when the hubby and I go to Vegas and do the "dinner and then nightclub" deal. Generally I'll wear them at night.

That said, I wore this look to a late lunch at a trendy restaurant with the hubby and friends this past Sunday. I've had this skirt for a few months now and had not worn it yet. I love the deep wine color and, while the fit is a bit body-con, the bottom of it has an easy, flow-y feel to it. I made it more daytime appropriate by adding the necklace. What do you think?

I hope everyone's been having a great week so far. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

xoxo
