Nice to meet you!

T-Shirt: Feel the Piece (in white here, also love this one here), Blazer: Zara (old, similar here, and here), Jeans: Rag & Bone/Jean, Shoes: Sam Edelman, Bag: Prada, Necklace: Kendra Scott, Earrings: Kendra Scott, Bracelets: Kendra Scott (here, and here), and Maria Paola Jewelry

Hello there! Today I'm doing a complete 180 from my previous post. I wore this look a couple weeks back to attend a bloggers' brunch. I wanted my outfit to be a good representation of my personal style at its core so, obviously, on went the jeans! Do not be fooled, though- my first reach was for boyfriends. Distressed ones. But in all honesty, I liked the way these skinnies looked much better. Especially for the occasion.

I paired them with my super soft Feel the Piece t-shirt in light gray, and my can't-go-wrong-with nude sandals and ladylike bag. The look was complete (and worthy of meeting new people in) when I threw on a white blazer, a strong handshake, and a warm smile.

**Disclaimer- I am aware that I am NOT smiling in any of these pictures, but please know that I did smile as I was meeting everyone. ;-)

Have a great rest of your week, friends! Btw, there's still time to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I've already scored some great pieces. Just waiting for them to arrive!!!

Sleeveless and Flowy

Top: Anthropologie (available in stores, not online, but also like this and this , both on major sale!), Jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied (old, similar here, and here), Shoes: Joie (old, similar here, here, and here), Tote: Tory Burch "Perry", Earrings: Kendra Scott, Bracelets: Kendra Scott (here, and here) and Maria Paola Jewelry, Lipstick: Mac "Brick-O-La"

Hello, friends! I'm so sorry for not posting last week. We got back from San Francisco late Tuesday night and, as a result of our time away, the latter part of the week was pretty hectic. I am posting today to make up for the recent radio silence. As of this week, the blog will be back to its regular programming!

On to the outfit. As I've mentioned before, I dress according to my moods. And lately, my moods have been all over the place. Some days I'll feel like wearing bright colors, other days I'm happy to be neutral and muted. On this particular day, this orange tank fit my mood perfectly. Unfortunately, it's not available online, but I did link another bright top that I really liked, as well as a very similar style tank that's available in different colors.

I chose to wear it with distressed loose fitting jeans to add a little edge to the look, but this tank would look perfect with a pair of white skinnies or shorts. And, of course, my trusty tote makes yet another appearance!

Have a great week and see you back here on Wednesday!

Currently Coveting- Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Hello there, friends! As promised, here are a few of my picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. If you have the Nordstrom credit/debit card, then you've probably already done some shopping during their early access days. If you don't have their card, don't fret. You can still browse the sale and pick out your items and then start shopping them tomorrow, Friday the 17th, during their public access period when you do not need to have their card to shop.

This is a great time to get some amazing items at huge savings. But hurry, cause prices go up on August 3rd! Have a great day, and happy shopping!

Nice and Neutral

Top: Anthropologie, Jeans: Mother Denim, Shoes: Sam Edelman (also love these), Bag: Prada (love this great lower priced option here), Necklace: Kendra Scott, Earrings: Kendra Scott, Bracelets: Kendra Scott (here and here), and Maria Paola Jewelry, Lipstick: Mac "Brick-O-La"

Hello there, loves! Hope you've all been having a great week. Mine has been a little hectic, but all good. I'm so excited because this weekend we're going to Napa/San Francisco on a celebratory trip! Our friends are celebrating their 1 year wedding anniversary, and my husband and I are celebrating our birthdays. Mine is actually today- Yikes!

Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram and Twitter  @girlinahotcity to see what I'm up to!

I leave you with this relaxed neutral look that I wore last Friday on date night with my hubby. This shirt is everything! So soft and comfy, and I love the detail on the back. And these jeans, seriously the softest pair I own. This color palette has such a calming effect.

Btw, don't forget to check out the Nordstrom Anniversary sale that's going on right now! There is early access for Nordstrom card holders until tomorrow. But don't worry if you're not a card holder. You can still view the sale now and then shop starting Friday! Huge savings on a ton of great items that you can wear now and in the fall/winter. I will be posting some of my picks tomorrow, so be sure to stop by.

Casual and Colorful

Top: Anthropologie (not available online, but it's on sale at stores!), Shorts: J.Crew (on sale for 40% off right now!), Wedges: Steve Madden (old, similar here and here), Hat: Nordstrom, Necklace: Kendra Scott, Bracelets: Kendra Scott, and Maria Paola Jewelry, Lipstick: Mac "Brick-O-La"

Good morning, friends! Have you been noticing a trend around here lately? Casual, comfortable, fuss-free looks are in order this time of year in my neck of the woods. The temperatures are rising day by day and it's getting increasingly difficult to get dressed.

Since it's not exactly legal to walk around in the buff (nor would it be prudent, especially at my age!), I've been opting for the standard shorts and cute top combo. Because the humidity is also on the rise, and my hair is a hot, hot mess (as evidenced in my previous post), a cute hat is also in order some days!

Have a great rest of your week and keep cool!

Comfy and Cool

Top: Madewell (on sale and also available in black!) Shorts: old (similar here and here), Shoes: Dolce Vita (also like these), Bag: Haute Gali (old, also like this and this), Necklace: Arm Candyzz, Bracelets: Kendra Scott (here, and here), and Maria Paola Jewelry, Lipstick: Mac "Brick-O-La"

Hello, friends! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend. Ours was great! Friday was a gorgeous day so we went out on the boat with some friends. On Saturday, a few of us went over to our friends' condo and watched the fireworks from their balcony. They made a super yummy all-American dinner complete with apple pie a-la-mode for dessert. I ate so much this weekend! I think I gained about two pounds. No joke.

I leave you with this comfy and cool summer look that is perfect for the sauna type weather we've been getting here in Miami.

Wishing you a great Monday, and see you back here on Wednesday!

Subdued

Top: Search for Sanity via Nordstrom (also available in black) Jeans: AG Adriano Goldshmied, Shoes: Valentino, Bag: Chloe, Bracelets: Kendra Scott, and Maria Paola Jewelry, Lipstick: Mac "Creme Cup"

Good Wednesday morning, peeps! Can you believe it's already July? Time certainly flies, and you become increasingly aware of it as you get older. Speaking of getting older, I have a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks- eeeek! I have mixed feelings about this, and might do a post on it. Not sure yet, but stay tuned.

Anyway, outfit talk... Today I'm doing a complete 180 from Monday's bright, colorful look. I tend to dress according to my mood, and lately, my mood is changing from day to day. Some days I feel bright and youthful, some days I feel more chill and subdued. I'm finding myself just as drawn to brights as I am to white or black or gray. Maybe it has something to do with how I feel about my impending birthday?
