Favorites Recapped

It's been a long time since I've done an outfit recap, so today I thought it would be fun to show you a few of my favorites (and yours, based on page views and "likes" on Insta!) from the last few months. You can view the full post and get outfit details for each by clicking below each photo.

I'd love to know which one' s your favorite!

Keepin' It Real

Swing Tank: Anthropologie, Cut-Off Shorts: Siwy, Platform Sandals: Steve Madden (also like these), Crossbody Bag: Street Level (similar here, and here), Earrings: Adia Kibur, Necklaces: Vanessa Mooney, and Madewell, Hat: Madewell, Lipstick: Mac "Chili"

It is starting to get unbearably hot and humid down here, rendering me a very unhappy camper. I don't do well in this kind of weather, and I swear I get SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) right around this time every year and it lasts up to mid October. I am not even kidding about this. August and September are very low on my "Likes" list. I'm so sorry, guys. I don't mean to sound like a complaining little whiner (which I realize I might), but I'm just keeping it real.

On a brighter, happier note- this outfit! Everything about it makes me happy. The bright orange top, the carefree cut-offs, the straw hat, the boho-ish sandals... Now, these pictures were taken a few weeks back when it was still bearable out. To be perfectly honest, I don't think I'd be smiling this much if these pics would have been taken right now! ;-)

Thanks so much for letting me vent, friends. I wish you a great rest of your week, and see you back here soon!

Top: Anthropologie, Jeans: Topshop (similar here), Heels: Steve Madden (similar here), Bag: Celine "Belt", Bracelet: Kendra Scott, Lipstick: Tom Ford "Pussycat"

Happy Monday, friends! Wishing you all a great and productive week!

Buttondown: Anthropologie, High Rise Jeans: A Gold E, Sandals: Steve Madden "Carrson", Clutch (old, also like this and this), Necklace: Madewell (on major sale!), Lipstick: Christian Louboutin "Velvet Rouge #001"  (so luxurious!)

In my book, it doesn't get any easier (or better) than a good ol' white buttondown, a comfy lived-in pair of jeans, and a great heel. Throw in a swipe or two of red lipstick for good measure, and you've got yourself a pretty fail-proof look.

Speaking of lipstick, you all know my deep love for the stuff (Exhibit A). Especially the red variety. Anyway, this past Friday was my birthday, and my super sweet and very thoughtful friend, Audrey (who is clearly aware of my penchant), gave me this gorgeous Christian Louboutin lipstick that I'm wearing in today's post! If I had to describe it in just one word it would be "LUXURIOUS". The color is absolutely gorgeous and the case is, in true CL form, over the top. (Thank you, Aud!!! :-)))

If you're a fellow lipstick lover and are looking to #treatyoself or someone you love, this lipstick is definitely a great option.

I hope your week is off to a great start! As always, thank you so much for stopping by, friends!

Bandanas On Repeat

Top: Madewell, Jeans: 7FAM (similar here and liking these white ones!), Sandals: Sam Edelman "Yardley", Bandana: Madewell, Bag: Louis Vuitton "Favorite", Lipstick: Tom Ford "Pussycat"

I have been wearing these bandanas/neckerchiefs so much lately! I think they add such a chic and fun touch to most outfits. I also like that you can tie them in different ways so they don't always look the same. You can see some examples of how I've styled them here, here, and here.

So how has your week been going? I can't believe we are already halfway through July! That means that THE two hottest months of the year here, August and September, are right around the corner and I. am. dreading. it. If you've been following along for a while now, you'll know just how much I dislike the heat and humidity that these two months bring. At this point I am bracing myself for the inevitable!

On a happier note, tomorrow is my 44th birthday! Yikes! David and I don't typically make a big deal out of our birthdays so we don't have anything "special" planned. We usually go out to drinks and dinner with friends, which is pretty much what we do on any given weekend!

Anyway, wishing you a fantastic and safe one, my friends. See you back here on Monday!

Top: Anthropologie, Jeans: AG (old, similar here), Heels: Steve Madden "Carrson", Bag: Celine "Belt", Bracelet: Kendra Scott (very similar here), Lipstick: Tom Ford "Ruby Rush"

When it comes to dressing, there is nothing I love more than mixing "nicer", more elegant pieces with more casual (especially distressed) ones. There's just something so unexpected and interesting about these combos. This outfit is a perfect example of that.

This lace top (insert heart eye emojis here), I think you would agree, is more on the dressy and nicer side. The lace detail and beading on the back and shoulders is gorgeous! It can easily be worn tucked into a pencil skirt or high-waisted wide leg trousers for work, or over white skinnies for a more monochromatic date night or gno look, and it would look great. But, when worn with a pair of distressed boyfriends, in my opinion, this top really stands out and makes the whole look more interesting.

I added my new bag (early birthday present from David!) and my favorite neutral colored sandals and, voila- ready to go out to dinner!

How do you guys feel about these kinds of looks? Let me know in the comments below! :-)
