Red and Leopard Print

I love the combination of the color red with animal print. It's no secret they go very well together. Today I am mixing the two and adding a third component, olive green. This jacket is very versatile. Light enough to wear here in Miami on a cool, breezy day but still roomy enough so you can layer underneath in slightly colder weather. You will be seeing a lot more of this jacket cause, as I write this, there are a bunch of styling ideas going through my head!

Happy Friday, all, and have a great weekend!

Quintessentially Me

This outfit is a version of my go-to outfit year round. I love a good pair of lived-in, ripped boyfriends paired with high heels and a slouchy top. I also love hats. Having curly hair and living in a humid city, they really are lifesavers when you're having a not-so-good hair day. Plus, I think they add interest to and kind of  "top off" an outfit, if you will. You will be seeing many variations of this as you visit the blog.

In outfits like this one, I feel effortless, comfortable, and confident. It's quintessentially me.

Have a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!

Sunday

Good morning and Happy Monday, all! No, not a Monday person are ya? Are you rolling your eyes at me right now? Alright, I'll turn it down a notch.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a very relaxing Saturday out on my sister-in-law's boat. It was beautiful out there on the water. Yesterday we went to what is now becoming one of our favorite places to have lunch and hang out on Sundays, Sea Salt and Pepper. Located on the Miami River, this restaurant/lounge serves really good food and provides even better people-watching. The combination of the decor, food, music, and people, make you feel as if you're in a seaside resort on the Mediterranean. We had a fantastic lunch with our friends and met some new cool people.

Here's a little peek at what we had:

Flash fried Burrata, Crab Lump Salad, Grilled Calamari with baby artichokes, and their puffed pita bread

Nice, refreshing Rose' for a hot Sunday afternoon

A Laud to my Scarf

I love scarves. I think there's something so luxurious about them. I've been known to wear them in the dead of summer over a tank top. Yup, it's true, just ask my friends. This particular scarf caught my eye as soon as I saw it but, when I looked at the price tag, I was all like "rheew, rheew, rheew" ( read it with a deflated inflection).

I walked away from it ( as ordered by my friend who was with me) begrudgingly. She haunted me, that scarf. Pretty little leopard print jezebel with the perfect combination of muted and bright colors. For a week I could not stop obsessing over thinking about it. I. had. to. make. her. MINE!!!

I'm so glad I got it. I've worn it quite a bit so the cost-per-wear is actually pretty good.

Hope everyone's having a great Thursday! :-)

It all came together

Hello, everyone! Hope your Wednesday has been off to a good start.

Today I'm showing you a look that I put together around these shorts. I saw them in my closet and realized it had been a while since I wore them. I tried on two other tops before settling on this black t-shirt. I liked the look, but felt it needed something to make it complete. In walks this vest. Added some edge with the little booties and we were off!

Just two more days and it'll be the weekend again! I'm looking forward to a nice, relaxing Saturday with the hubby, hanging by the pool and catching some rays.

What are you looking forward to doing this weekend?

Saturday

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing, long weekend. My husband and I spent some quality time together on Saturday and then had an impromptu Sunday Funday with friends. Love when that happens. So, back to Saturday.

We went to the Design District to grab some lunch and ended up at one of our favorite spots (we have a lot of favorites, as you will see as you continue visiting the blog), Harry's Pizzeria. Hadn't been there in a while and the food was just as good as we remembered.

We had the homemade organic ricotta as an appetizer or snack, as they call it and followed it up with the slow roasted pork pizza. The pizza has fig, grilled onions, fontina cheese, and arugula on it. We always ask for a side of balsamic vinegar with it to drizzle on top. So good! They have a small but decent selection of wines that you can have by the glass, carafe (roughly 2-3 glasses depending on your pours), or a bottle. We had a carafe of the Montepulciano d'Abbruzzo which never disappoints.

After all this food, we walked around the shops and snapped some pics.
