Hello, friends! I hope you've all been having a great few months week so far. I wanted to say thank you so much for your sweet comments here on the blog, on Instagram, and via email. It really means a lot to me and I want you to know that I appreciate it very much.

Girl in a Hot City is alive and (now) well, and I will be updating the blog again starting Monday, January 4th! I am beyond excited to hang with you guys again and perhaps tell you a little bit about why I was absent from here for a while.

That said, from the bottom of my heart, I wish you all a very happy Holiday Season, and a fantastic New Year! See you all back here in 2016!!!

I'm Alive!

Hello there, peeps! I know it's been a while since my last post, and I really apologize for that. Lots of things have been going on and I just have not been able to take photos or devote time to the blog. I really appreciate your patience and support, and fully intend to be back on the circuit in the next couple of weeks.

Hugs and kisses!

Summer Outfit Recap

Hello there, friends! I hope you all had a great Labor Day Weekend. For a great part of the country, Labor Day signifies the unofficial end of summer. So, I thought it would be cool to go back and do a little recap of some of my favorite looks from this summer.

You can click on the link below each picture to view the full post and outfit details. Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

Packing for Montreal + Labor Day Sales!

So, as I was telling you guys yesterday, my husband and I will be going to Montreal in a couple of weeks! Neither of us have been before so we're really looking forward to discovering it together. In addition to experiencing this beautiful city, along with its food and its people, I am also looking forward to wearing some cooler-weather pieces (a faux leather jacket, a poncho, booties, etc...), that I would not otherwise be able to wear- at least for a couple months.

I thought it would be fun to do a little roundup of some items that I am planning on packing for my trip. Some of these items I already own, and some I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on. As you can see, there is a definite color scheme going on here. I am a very light packer (not very style blogger-like) and always try to choose pieces that go well with one another so I can mix and match. Plus, I always want to leave a little room in my bag for new purchases I might make while on my trip! ;-)

What about you? Are you a light packer or do you overpack when you go on trips? Let me know in the comments below.

Oh, and a little PSA: Some of my favorite stores are having awesome sales this weekend! Check them out here:

Anthropologie- Take an Additional 30% off Sale items with code EXTRA30

Madewell- Take 30% off Fall Essentials and Take an Extra 30% off All Sale Styles

Nordstrom- Save up to 40% on Sale items

Good and Basic

Tank: Free People (wearing another tank underneath it), Jeans: Siwy Denim, Shoes: BCBGeneration (super old, similar here, here, and here), Clutch: Sole Society, Necklace: Kendra Scott, Bracelets: Kendra Scott (here, here, and here), Earrings: Kendra Scott, Lipstick: Mac "All Fired Up"

Good morning, lovelies! I hope you've all been having a great week. All good here. I am so excited that it's September already! My husband and I are going to Montreal in a couple weeks and I cannot wait. Neither of us have been there before so we are looking forward to discovering it together.

One of the things I am looking forward to the most on this trip is the cooler weather. I'm already styling looks with booties, scarves, light jackets, even a poncho! Ha ha...It's the little things!

I leave you with the outfit I wore last Friday night to have drinks and dinner with the hubby. Pretty basic, I am aware, but it works. Btw, this tank top is a must in your closet. It's nice and flowy, washes really well, and it's a great layering piece. I have it in three colors.

Have a great Wednesday, loves! And stop by on Friday so you can see some of the items I'll be packing for my trip!

Uptown/ Downtown

Blazer: Zara (similar here), Tank: Hinge (so comfy and available in different colors) Jeans: Anthropologie (I distrssed them myself, similar here, here, and here), Shoes: Sam Edelman (also like these), Clutch: Anthropologie (sold out, also like this, this, and this), Earrings: Kendra Scott c/o, Bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lipstick: Mac "All Fired Up"

I love combining classic dressy pieces with more trendy casual ones. This blush color tailored blazer combined with my DIY distressed boyfriend jeans is the perfect mix of uptown chic and downtown cool. And the blingy bag is just the icing on the cake. I feel very at home in looks like this one.

White-Out

Top: Search for Sanity, Jeans: Siwy Denim, Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (similar here), Bag: Balenciaga "City", Bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lipstick: Mac "Show Orchid"

There's something about total white looks that just make them so perfect for summer. I know that for some you, summer is quickly coming to an end. But down here in SoFla, August and September are the hottest months of the year. I am not rubbing it in at all. As a matter of fact, I am very slightly jealous that most of you will be wearing soft comfy sweaters, blanket scarves, and cool riding boots soon. It'll be some time before we can do that here.

In the meantime, I will be planning little weekend getaways to cooler weather places to tide me over!

Have a fantastic weekend, friends! See you back here on Monday!

Quick note: On the links for the top and shoes, the top shows up in black and the shoes show up in yellow, but they are also available in white.

Lush Top- Part 2

Top: Lush, Jeans: Siwy Denim, Shoes: Guess (old, similar here), Clutch: DVF (also love this cute crossbody style here), Earrings: Kendra Scott c/o, Bracelets: Marc by Marc Jacobs, and gift from my friend from India), Lipstick: Mac "Brick-O-La"

Hello there, peeps! I had every intention of posting yesterday, but then life happened. So.... I rolled with it. Flexibility is something I'm learning to embrace now that I'm in my 40's, and I kind of like it. ;-)

Anywho, remember a few posts back when I sung the praises of this top? Well, I was not kidding. Here it is again in this oh-so-perfect-for-fall olive color. Btw, I already ordered it in two more colors. I firmly believe that when you find something you love, works for you and is super versatile (plus a great price to boot!), you get it. And you get it in different colors!

Some Recent Finds!

Peasant Top: Anthropologie (also loving this one- both on sale plus take an extra 20% off right now!) Shorts: (old, similar here), Wedges: Nordstrom , Clutch: Sole Society, Necklace: Kendra Scott (this exact style is no longer available in white pearl, but this is a super similar style that I also have in a few other colors), Earrings, and Bracelets: Kendra Scott here, here, here, and Maria Paola Jewelry, Lipstick: Mac "Brick-O-La"

Good morning, peeps! So this is the outfit I wore to brunch this past Sunday. I just got this top, along with two others, on sale at Anthropologie (right now they are an additional 20% off!) It is so light and comfortable- perfect for our hot weather. Plus it's got that bit of "70's vibe I've been craving lately.

Both, the wedges and the clutch are from the #nsale, and they have proven to be very good purchases (read- I wear them all. the. time). The wedges go with everything, and the clutch adds the perfect little pop of interest to otherwise neutral looks. ;-)

White Gauze Top

Top: Anthropologie (similar ones here, here, and here- all available in different colors, including white/ivory), Jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied, Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (similar here, and here), Bag: Givenchy "Antigona", Lipstick: Mac "Mac Red"

Good morning, loves! I hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was good. Yesterday we had brunch with a group of friends at a new place that just opened in Wynwood called Wynwood Diner. The vibe and decor were both quirky and eclectic, and the food was delicious. There were nine of us in total and we were all very pleased with our choices. Since they just opened, they're still trying to work out their kinks, but I definitely recommend it. One thing- you have to make resys because the place gets packed!

I leave you with an outfit I wore on Saturday night to have wine and tapas with the hubby. On Wednesday I'll show you what I wore to brunch yesterday! Wishing you all a great start to the week!

P.S- One of my favorite stores, Anthropologie, is having an extra 20% off on their sale items starting right now and for a limited time only! I actually got the top I'm wearing on this post on sale from them last week. Unfortunately, it is already sold out. ;-( But, they have a great selection, so make sure you take a peek!
