Easy Like Sunday Morning

Sweater: JCrew "Tippi" (available in a ton of colors!), Jeans: Citizens of Humanity "Emerson", Sneakers: Converse Chuck Taylor "Dainty", Bag: Balenciaga, Scarf: Anthropologie (old, pretty options here, here, and here)

This past Sunday the weather could not have been better here in Miami. It was sunny and breezy, and the temperature was in the low 70's. So, we had no other choice but to go outside and enjoy the glorious day! We took a leisurely morning stroll though our neighborhood and then came back and enjoyed some mimosas at the cafe downstairs in our building. My kind of Sunday morning for sure.

Wishing everyone a great weekend! Don't forget to get out there and enjoy it.

Grounded in Gray

Sweater: J.Crew (25% off right now), Jeans: Citizens of Humanity "Racer"(on sale right now!) Shoes: Manolo Blahnik BB's in 105mm height, Scarf: H&M (old, similar here, here, and here), Bag: Balenciaga, Sunglasses: Prada

As I've stated before, gray is one of my favorite colors. Particularly when it comes to t-shirts and sweaters, there's just something about it that always looks elegant, rich, and just all around cool. I've been finding myself wearing quite a bit of gray lately (as evidenced in my two previous posts and also will be on an upcoming one!), and I am not apologizing for it one bit. ;-)

Below, I'm linking some of my current favorite gray items. Even though the link might show a different color, they are all available in different shades of gray. Oh, and, I may or may not have pulled the trigger them currently in my shopping cart!

What about you? Are there any colors that you are particularly drawn to lately? I'd love to hear about it!

Express Yourself

Sweatshirt: Madewell (sold out, also liking this, this, and this, all on super sale!), Jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied (similar here, and here), Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell (old, similar here, also like these and they are 25% off right now with code MUSTHAVE!), Bag: Chanel, Watch: Fossil, Sunglasses: Prada, Lipstick: Nars "Jungle Red"

It's no secret I love a good graphic top. They are a great way to express yourself and show the mood you're in at the moment without much effort. Speaking of expressing yourself... I know I've been doing quite a bit of these casual looks lately. The truth of the matter is, this is exactly how I've been feeling. And true to my Cancerian nature, I'm one that dresses according to my mood.

That's one thing you can count on over here on Girl in a Hot City. I will always keep it real, and I will not wear something just because it's trending, or expected, or "different". Believe me, if I attempt to wear something that I'm not feeling at the moment, I will not carry it well and it will be very evident in photos. That said, my mood is sure to change and I look forward to seeing how I will be expressing myself in the near future!

Leave Your Hat On

Sweater: Olivaceous (old, similar here, here on sale, and at a steal here), Jeans: Siwy Denim, Hat: Anthropologie (not available anymore, similar here, and here) Shoes: BCBGeneration (old, similar here, and here), Bag: Givenchy Antigona, Watch: Fossil, Bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sunglasses: Prada

Most of the time, it's the (seemingly) little things that make the difference. Picture this outfit without the hat... That's my point. ;-)

Lightening It Up

Sweater: Rehab (old, like this, this, and this), Jeans: Citizens of Humanity, Tank: Lucky Brand, Shoes: Dolce Vita (on major sale in select sizes!),  Bag: Chanel "Boy", Sunglasses: Prada, Watch: Fossil, Necklace: Kendra Scott, Bracelet: Gift from my friend from India, Lipstick: Nars "Rita"

Sometimes you just feel like lightening things up a bit. After having done a fair share of total black and just overall darker looks recently, it's refreshing to change things up and wear an outfit consisting of cream, white, and a little gray thrown in for good measure. Oh, and, yes it's January. And, yes, I'm wearing a sweater with holes. ;-)

It's All About Balance

Top: Banana Republic (on Sale!), Jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied (similar here and here), Shoes: Valentino "Rockstud", Bag: Givenchy "Antigona", Sunglasses: Prada. Lipstick: Mac "Mac Red"

Good morning, everyone! I hope you've had a good and productive week. Mine was both. We stayed in and I cooked yummy, healthy, clean meals Monday through Wednesday. So, last night, we decided to step out and have some pizza (see picture here) at Ironside Pizza. By the way, if you live in or plan on visiting the Miami area, you should definitely check this place out. Their Involtini appetizer is not to be missed.

Anyway, the way I see it is, it's all about balance. Life is too short not to enjoy these yummy things every now and again. Tonight, we'll just stay in and I'll cook. Probably. ;-)

Do you have any plans for tonight or this weekend?! I'd love to hear about them!

Fuss Free and Comfortable

Top: Joie, Jeans: Flying Monkey (similar here, and here), Sneakers: Converse Chuck Taylor "Dainty" , Bag: Chanel "Boy", Sunglasses: Versace  Watch: Fossil

Because real life is not always about heels and primp, today I'm showing you a very casual and laid back look that I wore this past Saturday to have lunch and do a little shopping with the hubby. Since I was just starting to feel better from my cold that day, I really just wanted to wear something that was fuss free and super comfortable. Enter the loose fitting jeans and flowy cotton shirt.

Being that we were going to be walking around quite a bit, I opted for my Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers. This is their new "Dainty" style which is slimmer and less bulky than the original. Since I'm short and have small feet, this is a great style for me because it keeps me from looking like I'm wearing clown shoes! ;-) I like them so much that I also got them in this color. Can't wait to wear them and show you how I style them!

Btw, if you're thinking of getting these (and I recommend you do because they're awesome!), go a half size down. I'm usually a 5.5 in shoes and I got these in a 5 and they fit perfectly.

Have a wonderful day, beauties! See you back here on Friday.

My Current Situation

Blanket Scarf: Madewell (old, similar here, and here), T-Shirt: Rag&Bone/Jean, Jeans: Citizens of Humanity "Emerson", Shoes: Manolo Blahnik BB's in the 105mm height, Bag: Givenchy "Antigona", Watch: Fossil, Sunglasses: Prada, Lipstick: Mac "Rebel"

Good morning, beauties! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Ours was tame. I finally felt better from my cold on Saturday so we stepped out and did a little shopping in the Design District.

So, we are well into January and, apparently, South Florida has not gotten the memo. We've been having a pretty warm and unusually rainy "winter" so I've been living in a combination of tees and blazers (as seen here, here, and here), or light sweaters and booties (as seen here, and here), and tees and scarves as seen in today's post.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly complaining here. I'm just saying that, simply put, this is the state of my current situation.

Have a great Monday, everybody, and see you back here on Wednesday!
