High Rise

Black Sheer Blouse (no longer available. very similar here, and also like this one), High Rise Distressed Jeans,  also here (they run big so size down), Fringe Heels (also like these), Chanel Bag (similar for less here, and here), Mac "Mac Red" Lipstick and Mac "Cherry" Lipliner

Good morning, and happy Friyay, friends! These pics were taken a few weeks ago and for some reason, I had not posted them yet.

These high rise jeans are a relatively new addition to my closet and I have to tell you that I love them! They are a skinny fit, but not too fitted. There's a little breathing room to them and the higher waist is super comfortable. I paired them with this gorgeous sheer blouse (the pictures do not do it justice) from Anthropologie and my fun red heels for a casual, yet chic look to go out to dinner.

Wishing you a fantastic Friday and weekend! Stop by tomorrow to read about my experience on the Whole 30.

Must-Haves for Summer

Off the Shoulder Top, White Cut-off Shorts, Wedges (available in 4 colors!), Embroidered Clutch, Earrings, Bracelets (1, and similar 2), Lipstick: Mac "Flat Out Fabulous"

Hello there, friends! Doesn't this outfit just scream Summer?! I swear just looking at it transports me to a warm, breezy late June evening at a swanky seaside restaurant, where I'm sitting down beside David watching the sunset and listening to EDM while sipping on an ice cold martini. With a twist.

Ok, back to reality. It's only Wednesday morning, so definitely NO martini yet. But seriously, all these pieces on their own are great Summer staples. And when you put them together, in my opinion, they are even better. Cut-off shorts, wedges, and off or cold shoulder tops are definite must-haves in my Summer wardrobe. In addition to the pieces I'm wearing, I'm also linking some great options in the widget below. Some of them I already have and love, some I have my eye on. Take a peek and see what you think!

On another note, today David and I celebrate our 14 year wedding anniversary! My goodness, how time flies. I wouldn't say that it feels as if it was yesterday that we got married, but I will say it definitely doesn't feel like 14 years! At the risk of sounding like a complete cheeseball, I am so happy to be married to him and there's no one else I'd rather be on this journey with. We're actually going to be celebrating next week when we go away to Playa del Carmen, so we're not really doing anything special today. Maybe just a casual bite and that martini. ;-)

Wishing you a great Wednesday, and see you back here on Friday!

Ready for the Weekend!

Good morning, and happy Friday! Who's ready for the weekend? I know I am. I had originally planned to share a little bit about my experience on the Whole 30 on today's post, but this week got a little hectic and I was not able to write it up. I promise I will include it in one of next week's post!

In the meantime, I leave you with this cute and casual outfit that is perfect for the weekend, especially if you're running errands.

Wishing you a great one, my friends! See you back here on Monday!

An Updated Classic

Denim Jacket: Anthropologie (from a few seasons ago, different wash here, and also like this and this), Tank: Madewell, Jeans: Topshop (similar style here), Wedges: Sole Society (love!!!) Clutch: Sole Society (only $40, and available in 7 colors!), Necklaces: Stella & Dot (here, and here) and Kendra Scott (here), Bracelet: Kendra Scott (similar here), Lipstick: Tom Ford "True Coral" and Mac "Mocha"

On last Wednesday's post I spoke about the military jacket and what a great layering piece it is, especially during Spring and Fall. Another piece that also fits nicely in that category would be the denim jacket.

A classic with tremendous staying power, the denim jacket has come a long way from the boxy acid wash types that were worn by everybody and their grandmother in the '80's and '90's. Nowadays they come in lots of different styles and washes and, in addition to offering a bit of warmth, it can also add a little interest to an outfit.

So, how was everyone's weekend? Anything fun? Ours was low key but good. Today is day 29 of our Whole 30 program and we are feeling awesome! I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to reset their eating/drinking habits, has digestive discomfort, needs or would like to lose a few pounds, and just improve their overall quality of life. For those of you who are interested, I will be recapping my personal experience on the Whole 30 over here on Friday.

Wishing you a great start to the week, and see you back here on Wednesday!
