Weekend Chic

Top: Zara, Jeans: Flying Monkey ( similar here ), Shoes: Manolo Blahnik ( similar, lower cost option here ), Bag: Haute Gali, Sunglasses: Prada, Watch: Fossil

Good morning, beauties! I hope you've had a great week. I'm so happy this morning because my hubby and I are going to NYC for the weekend! New York is home to me and every time I go back ( about once or twice a year ), it's as if I never left, although it's been years since I actually did.

I am so looking forward to seeing some old friends, and eating and drinking our way through this awesome city. I will tell you all about it next week but, in the meantime, I leave you with these pics of a casual, street chic weekend look that would actually be perfect for a spring afternoon in NYC.

Have a great weekend, and remember that you can follow me on InstagramTwitter, and Bloglovin'!

Dawhling!

Blazer: Zara, Shorts: Forever 21 ( old ), Shoes: Enzo Angiolini, Tank: Twenty, Bag: Furla, Watch: Anne Klein, Bracelet: from India ( gift from the bestie ), Sunglasses: Prada, Lipstick: Mac "Diva"

I would say that, about 80% of the time, I dress according to my mood and how I feel that day. So, I'll start with a feeling/mood and build the look from there. The other 20% of the time, I have a particular item in mind that I want to wear and I'll build the look based on that item and ,as a result, my mood will change to whatever the feeling is the outfit gives me. Am I explaining myself correctly? This outfit is a perfect example of the latter scenario.

This whole look began with the shorts. I bought them about five months ago, but had not found an opportunity to wear them ( mainly because my legs were the color of my blazer! ). After having gotten some sun recently, I felt it was time to style them and see where I could take them.

Since my hubby and I were going out for drinks and dinner, I wanted to dress them up so I immediately thought blazer. Being that the blazer is white, I wanted to tie all the colors together that were in the print of the shorts so...red suede heels. The last guest to this party was this beautiful white bag that, I think, rounds out the look quite nicely.

After putting this whole look on, my mood went from " Cool, drinks and dinner with the hubby!" to (* please read the following with a Frasier accent* ) "Dawhling, so good to see you. We must do lunch sometime." Muah, muah ( kiss on each cheek.) Hee hee hee... ;-)

Happy Hump day, beauties! Have a great day.

Top: Patterson J Kincaid ( similar here ), Shorts: Citizens of Humanity ( they were long jeans, I cut them ), Shoes: Dolce Vita, Bag: Botkier ( similar color here ), Belt: J.Crew, Sunglasses: Tom Ford, Watch: Fossil

Good Monday morning to all! Short post today as I show you one of my go-to outfits for warmer weather. A flowy top, denim shorts, and a great pair of heels. Simple, comfortable, put-together, and keeps you cool.

Wishing everyone a great Memorial Day!

And a Coral Crossbody

Top: Felicite' ( similar here ), Jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied, Booties: Michael Michael Kors ( old, but also love this one ), Bag: DVF, Sunglasses: Versace, Watch: Fossil

I'm a total "bag-girl". Don't get me wrong, I love a good, sexy shoe too but, if given the choice between one or the other, I would definitely choose the bag.

I got this bright coral ( the color is called Sunburnt ) one on our recent trip to Las Vegas. I wasn't really looking for it, but as soon as my husband pointed it out to me, it was like "bam!" It's not too small, not too big, very light in weight and the best part is it's a crossbody. While I love satchels, totes, clutches, hobos, shoulder, etc... the crossbody is, hands down, the most comfortable style, at least for me. Plus, it leaves your arms free to, I don't know, scratch your nose, get your hair out of your face, walk your dog... ( carry shopping bags! ).

Speaking of shopping, Nordstrom is currently having their half-yearly sale! Save up to 40% off.

Have a great long weekend, lovelies! See you back here on Monday.

My Husband hates my Boyfriend

Top: Joie ( old, other cute options here and here ), Jeans: Siwy Denim ( similar here and here ), Shoes: Manolo Blahnik, Bag: Fossil ( very similar here ), Sunglasses: Bvlgari, Watch: Fossil, Bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs

This past Saturday we went to have a late lunch at one of our favorite spots, Sea Salt and Pepper. Located on the Miami River and open only since this January, this place is enjoying large crowds from Wednesday through Sunday, with Sunday definitely being THE day to be there. There's a DJ playing different types of music and it is just a fabulous party after 2 pm until the end of the night.

Saturday afternoon is way more tame and you can actually get a spot at the bar, which is where my hubby and I like to eat when it's just the two of us. We had the Charcuterie board and the Pappardelle with Braised Short Ribs and black truffle oil ( my husband's favorite dish there ). Also had a little bubbly! After lunch we walked over to the bridge and took some pictures.

The outfit: As you might tell from the title of this post, my husband is not a fan of the super slouchy boyfriend jean. And by "not a fan" I mean he can't stand them- he refers to them as built-in birth control! That said, I still wear them because I love them. He deals with it because, luckily for him, I don't wear these slouchy ones that often.

How do you feel about super slouchy boyfriend jeans? Are they a Yes or No? And do you wear pieces that your significant other doesn't like?

Happy Hump day! ;-)

Green and Silky

Dress: Greylin (very similar here ), Belt: Anthropologie (old ), Shoes: Steve Madden (old, similar options here ), Bag: ??? ( bought it at a friend's trunk show three years ago ), Sunglasses: Elizabeth and James ), Bracelts: Forever 21 (old )

There's something about dresses that always makes me feel feminine and sexy. I don't know if it's the way they drape on the body accentuating its curves or the sheer fact that it's a dress and dresses, to me, are synonymous with "woman".

This particular one definitely makes me feel pretty and confident. A beautiful green color, soft and flowy silk, and a very flattering cut that's cinched at the waist and has a racer t-back that shows off the shoulders. Paired with dusty pink high platform heels and a thick belt and I am all woman! What do you think of this look or dresses in general? Would love to know.

Have a great Monday, beauties!
